Telecommunications company Digicel announced recently its new Cuba roaming SIM card offered in conjunction with Cuban telecoms provider, ETECSA.
You can purchase the new sim cards on Amazon here. According to Digicel, the SIM cards offer lower mobile roaming rates for travelers in Cuba.

Here are the features of the $25 SIM card:
- Pre-loaded with 100 MB of data, plus FREE incoming SMS. No contract required.
- Voice calls are only available on the “500 MB + 40 Minutes” recharge plan. 100 MB, 300 MB, and 500 MB + 40 Minutes recharge plans can only be purchased once the SIM card has been activated in Cuba.
- Rates as low as $0.17 per MB. Major USA carriers charge $2.00 per MB when roaming in Cuba. All data billed per KB; voice calls billed per second.
- Brand new, ready to use. Compatible with all UNLOCKED DEVICES on the GSM 850/900 and WCDMA 900 frequencies. Activation instructions included. SIM cards connect to Cuba’s 3G tourist network. Speeds are dependent on the local network in Cuba. Digicel makes no guarantees on actual speed connectivity.
