Fathom, Carnival Corporation’s new “social impact” cruise brand, has announced it will visit three Cuban ports of call — Havana, Cienfuegos, and Santiago de Cuba — when it begins operations next year.

The company has also unveiled the seven-day itinerary travelers will experience during their Cuban “cultural immersion.”

In June 2015, Fathom received U.S. approval to sail from the U.S. to Cuba, and it is currently working to finalize Cuban approval.

Fathom is accepting reservations for its inaugural voyage to Cuba beginning in May 2016.

Travelers will spend two days in Havana, where they will take in cultural experiences such as an Old City Walking Tour, an Afro-Cuban Community Meeting, and a visit to rural Cuba.

Day Three is dedicated to Cultural Immersion at Sea en route to Cienfuegos.

Aboard their vessel, travelers will take part in social impact-centered discussion sessions, activities, and film viewings, according to the company.

In Cienfuegos, passengers will visit an elementary school and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as attend an a capella performance and an Entrepreneurs of Modern Cuba meeting, among other activities.

In Santiago de Cuba, travelers will explore Spanish, French, and Afro-Cuban culture, participate in an economic development activity, and pay a visit to another elementary school.

Guests will then enjoy a final day of Cultural Immersion at Sea before their return to the U.S.
