While Canada has long been Cuba’s primary tourism source market, the island is now seeing a big boost from Western Europe.
Germany sent 86,638 tourists to Cuba in the first six months of 2015, up 21.7 percent from the same period in 2014, while France sent 74,969 tourists to the island, up 28.5 percent in that period.
The United Kingdom sent 81,286 tourists to Cuba in the same period, a 27.5 percent increase over the first half of 2014.
Canada didn’t slouch, though, with a 13.2 percent jump.
