Habanos, S.A will introduce its newest product at the 35th Edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2017) on October 30th.
The new Línea Retro will be marketed through two products, Partagás Capitols and Romeo y Julieta Club Kings. The new addition boasts retro design combined with modern features.
The new Línea Retro stands out for its metal box, a design inspired by the original pocket cigar holders that became so popular in the 1970’s. Today, these boxes are highly-valued collectors’ items.
The Partagás Capitols and Romeo y Julieta Club Kings cigar cases were designed exclusively for Habanos, S.A. and will solely be used for the Línea Retro product launches.
Each case holds 5 Habanos, with the vitola de galera Mareva (42 ring gauge x 129 mm length). Mareva is possibly the most popular format in the history of Habanos, and its dimensions have been considered the “standard” size versus other formats. With Partagás Capitols, the brand Partagás introduces again the Mareva to the brand’s regular portfolio.
The Línea Retro joins the Habanos portfolio with the aim of gradually introducing this same concept to other brands.
Earlier this year, China National Tobacco Corporation and Cuba’s cigar maker Habanos S.A. signed a letter of intent to increase Cuba’s cigar exports to China.
China National Tobacco Corporation General Manager Ling Chengxing and co-presidents of Habanos S.A., Inocente Nunez and Luis Sanchez-Harguindey, signed the document in Havana.
According to the agreement, Habanos S.A. can provide assistance to cigar production in China while expanding its cigar sales in the Asian market.
