One of the most important artists from Cuba is coming to Miami.
Painter Julio Larraz will be showing his work at Ascaso Gallery and La Cometa during Art Miami, which takes place Dec. 1-6.
“Larraz’s paintings are dominated by imposing landscapes, powerful seas, enigmatic space scenes, and elegant individuals wearing resplendent attire that call into question the meaning of beauty,” the gallery says.
The son of a newspaper editor, the native of Havana has had solo exhibitions around the world from Biarritz to Venice to Rome.
His recent exhibitions took him to Lima, Santa Monica and his current home of Miami, where he showed at the Caribbean: Crossroads of the World exhibition at the Perez Art Museum Miami.
