Yachting in Cuba: Upcoming Expert Panel Discussion

The International Superyacht Society (ISS) has assembled a panel of experts on the subject of the hottest new destination in the world of yachting: Cuba!

The panel will be held at the 2015 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show on Saturday, November 7th at 8:30 AM at Swimming Hall of Fame 1 Hall of Fame Dr, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.

The hour-long session will include an intense presentation on yachting to, from and around Cuba, the legal aspects and permitting requirements; how the yachting world can participate in good environmental stewardship of the island nation and commercial opportunities that are available now.

The event is sponsored by Royal Huisman, a family-owned custom yacht builder specializing in large yachts, from 30m (100ft) – 90m (300ft).

Simons Chase, Editor-in-Chief and co-Founder of the Cuba Journal, will moderate the panel.

The panel discussion speakers include:

Michael T. Moore is the Chairman of the Board of The International Seakeepers Society. He is also the Founder and Senior Partner of Moore & Company, a law firm specializing in Marine, Aviation and Art law.

Gerald Berton of CubaSeas.com is a well noted and highly experienced Yacht industry figure, and entrepreneur and a businessman who has been selling agricultural products to Cuba since 2008 and is well familiar with USA and Cuban regulations and activities.

Scott Wagner is the Vice Chair of the Admiralty Law Committee for the Florida Bar and has dedicated a portion of his practice at Moore & Company to navigating the regulatory requirements, pitfalls, and obligations of transiting people and cargo between the U.S. and Cuba by vessel.
