Another New Way to Find a Room in Cuba

Since the 2014 US-Cuba rapprochement, finding a hotel room in Cuba hasn’t just been hard — it’s been nigh impossible.

But there are other ways to find a place to stay in Cuba, beyond tour operators, local agencies and, of course, Airbnb.

But now another major hospitality player has joined the fray.

Enter Homestay.com, which launched in Cuba last year.

Now, Havana is now among the top 10 most popular cities on its site ,which offers rentable rooms in private homes, with hosts present to offer “comfort and security while sharing insider knowledge of all things Cuban,” according to the company.

The company says it now has hundreds of rooms throughout Cuba, although most are concentrated in Havana.

Of course, those who book with Homestay still need to meet one of the 12 licensed criteria for legal travel to Cuba, from people to people trips to educational experiences.
