Chanel has announced that it will stage a show in Cuba on May 3, 2016, the fashion line’s first in Latin America.
The brand will present its new Cruise collection at the event, which it hosts annually at locations around the world including Miami, Venice, Singapore, Dubai, and Seoul.
Leading global fashion figures will gather in Havana for the show, which is to be one of the city’s most anticipated events in the past several decades.
“The cultural wealth and the opening of Cuba to the world, make the country a source of inspiration for Karl Lagerfeld [creative director of the brand] and Chanel,” Cuba’s government said in a statement.
