What is Cuba, Inc?

Philippe Pouletty had a proposal for a vaccine to treat chronic Hepatitis B.

His idea was to work with the Cuban government to float a company on Euronext, with the government as shareholder, according to Reuters.

But it’s a little too soon for these kind of “capitalist proposals,” as Pouletty called it.

But Cuba has increasing allure for foreign businesses, particularly from the United States, since the rapprochement between the two countries in December.

“In the morning on Dec. 17, Cuba was still a word spoken in U.S. business circles with hushed tones,” said Mark Entwistle, Canada’s former Ambassador to Cuba. “By the afternoon, half of corporate America was rambling around forming a Cuba team.”
