Delta Expanding Service Between Miami and Havana

As several carriers reduce service, one major airline is actually expanding its flights to Cuba.

Delta has announced plans to expand its Miami-Havana service, with an additional daily nonstop flight between the two cities.

Delta plans to begin operating this route by Dec. 15, pending U.S. Department of Transportation regulatory approval.

“Delta has established a strong framework for sustainable success in the Cuban market,” said Jose “Pepe” Zapata, Delta’s General Manager-Central America and the Caribbean. “The proposed flight would provide additional service and competition for South Florida, which has the largest Cuban-American population in the United States.”

Delta launched its first Cuba service in December 2016, with new daily flights from New York, Miami and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
