It’s one of the biggest reasons to travel to Cuba: the country’s fascinating mix of cultures.

And chief among them is Cuba’s varied, rich Afro-Cuban culture — and now there’s a new way to experience it.

Central Holidays is now offering Afro-Cubanismo, a 10-day, nine-night program that gives visitors access to artists, musicians and filmmakers, while dining in local communities.

The program begins with two days in Havana, along with trips to Santiago de Cuba and Camaguey. The itinerary will include a slate of live performances and cultural experiences.

Afro-Cubanismo has departures scheduled Jan. 15, Jan. 29, Feb. 19, Mar. 18, Apr. 15, May 20, Nov. 11, Dec. 9. and Dec. 23 in 2016.

“We are proud to introduce our new “Afro-Cubanismo” program, the first of its kind,” said Gianni Miradoli, CEO of Central Holidays. “We’ve lined up the country’s top historians and experts to lead the tours.  Participants will visit artist studios and performance spaces, they’ll dine with artists and the most knowledgeable community representatives, and we’ve built in plenty of down time so guests can make their own un-programmed discoveries.”
