Alitalia Launching First-Ever Cuba Flights

Italian carrier Alitalia is launching its first-ever flights from Rome to Havana.

The new nonstop service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning Nov. 29.

Alitalia will be operating the flights on its long-haul Boeing 777 aircraft, part of a wider push in the hemisphere that has included new routes to Santiago and Mexico City.

“Tourism and business in Cuba have great growth prospects for Italians and this new service to this wonderful island will go towards fulfilling that ambition. The Havana flights is yet further confirmation of Alitalia’s strategy to build our long-haul network of intercontinental flights to give Italians greater opportunities to travel further afield for both leisure and business.”

The flights will depart from Rome on Tuesdays at 9:05 AM local time and on Saturdays at 10:35 AM local time.

Flights will have 293 seats in three classes: business, premium and economy.
