Hollywood legend Robert De Niro became the latest newsmaker to visit Cuba this week.
The actor’s trip got a wave of publicity following a visit to the landmark Havana restaurant La Guarida, which posted photos of De Niro’s visit to its Facebook page.
And it wasn’t the only visit by De Niro to the restaurant this week.
“Robert De Niro, one of the biggest stars of the film universe, the winner of Academy Awards, has been a recurring guest in our restaurant,” La Guarida’s owners wrote. “He has been in Cuba for two days and has tasted our dishes three times.”
The restaurant said its staff was “very happy to share with him and how it called to our attention how much mastery and talent lives with so much humility and graciousness in the same person.”
La Guarida is one of the most famous paladares, or private restaurants, in the Cuban capital.
The purpose of De Niro’s trip was not yet clear.
While De Niro has continued to make movies, he has developed a large enterprise developing hotels, including a project in the Caribbean.
