This Company Says It Can Find You a Hotel Room in Cuba

If you’ve tried to get to Cuba in the last few months, you’ve encountered a problem. There are just very, very few rooms available in Havana.

While hotel space in Cuba is at a premium, tour operator Central Holidays says it has deluxe hotel space in Havana and first-class space in other major Cuban cities blocked through December 2017.

Central Holidays also offers five preset-departure programs and customizable itineraries for private groups of 10 passengers or more.

“The good news is that there is interest and phones keep ringing off the hook for Cuba, Cuba, Cuba,” said Arthur Berman, vice president of Central Holidays’ Latin America and Cuba Division. “The issue at hand is that there is not hotel space available on the island to accommodate the influx of visitors. All of the quality hotels are sold out.  Central Holidays, however, has plenty of group space available through 2017 to accommodate, whereby guests can select from one of our five on-the-ground programs.  We also have the flexibility of customizing programs that meet the needs/interests of private groups.”

Guests of Central Holidays can choose from options ranging from a “Taste of Havana” long weekend, to “The City & Sea” and Hola Cuba”– eight night programs exploring Havana, Varadero and Cienfuegos.

Central Holidays offers two niche programs, one of which is an eight-night Jewish heritage trip called L’Chaim Cuba, which offers a personal view of Jewish life in Cuba and includes meetings with leaders of the Jewish communities, visiting synagogues, and spending Friday night Sabbath services and dinner with members of the community.

The other is a nine-night Afro Cubanismo cultural program that delves into the vibrant history of the Cuban and African cultures.
