British Singer Sting Is Latest Musician Planning Cuba Event

Dominic Miller, Sting’s Argentinian guitarist since 1991, revealed t0 Cubadebate.cu that the famous singer wants to get to Cuba before Mick Jagger’s rumored March concert. Miller, who was visiting the island nation as part of Cuba’s British Cultural Week, gave a press conference at Cuban Art Factory (FAC). Miller also perf0rmed in concert at FAC as part of the release of a new phonogram, “Made in Cuba”.

Cuba’s music scene is heating up.  Mick Jagger posted a photo of his trip to his Twitter account, writing “On a break in Cuba!” But other reports suggested he was scouting the area for a possible location on the Rolling Stones’ upcoming Latin American tour.

In another recent development, the Manana Cuba festival is planned for May 4-6, 2016 in the city of Santiago de Cuba, located on the eastern coast of Cuba – 540 east of Havana.

According to the event organizers, the festival will take place in the Heredia complex and will also have access to courtyards, house parties, street carnivals and processions that give the city its musical soul. The festival’s organizers have launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project.
