Varadero: it’s a name that conjures up images of white-sand beaches, swaying palms and mojitos.
And Cuba’s all-inclusive hub is now easier to reach, following the latest easing of restrictions for Americans who want to travel to the island.
Now, US travelers can take individual “educational” tours without the need to book people-to-people group programs through licensed tour operators.
That means a number of hotels are now open for booking directly for Americans — like, for example, Superclubs’ Breezes Varadero.
The hotel, which is located on Varadero beach, is a classic all-inclusive resort, with four restaurants, watersports and, of course, rum.
